May concerts wrap up year of enrollment growth and musical improvement at Santa Rosa Junior College!  With big gains in enrollment and lots of musical progress, ensembles peaked on this exciting last concert week featuring SRJC Orchestra playing The Planets (Holst) and SRJC Symphonic Band playing classics such as Choral and Shaker Dance on the May 16.  Other year highlights included a concert in the prestigious Weill Hall, outdoor concerts at Day Under the Oaks, and growing audiences at on-campus performances at Burbank Auditorium and Newman Auditorium.

Jerome Fleg begins as Director of Instrumental Music at Santa Rosa Junior College!  Duties include conducting Orchestra, Symphonic Band and Jazz Band.  After many enjoyable and productive years in Wyoming and Colorado, Jerome has moved his home base to Santa Rosa, CA (55 miles north of San Francisco).

Guatemala Jazz Festival (https://www.facebook.com/guatemalajazzfestival) invite Jerome Fleg and others to return for March 2015 Jazz Festival!  Dr. Fleg and other guest faculty from the USA presented a weeklong Jazz Camp and performances in 2014.  After performing to a packed house and receiving rave reviews, Jerome Fleg and others will return again in March 2015!

Antero Winds (including Jerome Fleg, clarinet) get invited back for Aspen Music Festival residencies for next TWO years!  The Antero Winds have just returned from completing a successful 3-day residency with Aspen Music Festival.  The quintet taught at a wide range of schools throughout the Roaring Fork Valley from Glenwood Springs to Aspen, CO.  The group was featuring in an evening concert in Basalt, CO.  The group performed its newly completed George Gershwin arrangement by flutist Cobus du Toit.

Jerome Fleg and Casper College complete successful residency with Guatemala International Jazz Festival.  For a week, Jerome Fleg and other faculty designed an taught a 1 week "Jazz Boot Camp" in Guatemala City through the Guatemala American Institute and Guatemala International Jazz Festival.  The week ended in a featured performance of Casper College faculty & guests in a headliner concert on Friday, March 14 in the Dick Smith Auditorium, Guatemala City.  They also presented a student finale performance with Jerome Fleg and Andrew Stonerock conducting the "Jazz Boot Camp" Big Band.  They also presented a student finale performance with Jerome Fleg and Andrew Stonerock conducting the "Jazz Boot Camp" Big Band.

Casper College Jazz Band opens up the headliner concert at 47th Annual Kinser Jazz Festival to rave reviews!

The Casper College Jazz Band performed a "Soloists Showcase" which featured award-winning guest soloists.  The band performed Blue Samuel featuring Grammy-recording-nominated bassist Erik Applegate and Maria featuring trumpeter Dan Jonas.  The band also performed Wil Swindler's El Perrero with the composer and saxophonist himself.  Wil Swindler was winner of the prestigious Gil Evans fellowship in 2008.
